What is in this Issue?

Toy Times Comments

Spring is well underway. Along with new crops popping up, new toys should be appearing on shelves through out May and June. Hopefully you were able to read about many of the new items in the May farm Toy Report. The new 1/16 Graham and Bradely tractor from Die-cast Promotions is particularly impressive. The new 1/4 AGCO/Challenger toys first reported in the March Toy Tractor Times are shipping from Ertl now and hopefully next month we will see the John Deere Sound-Gard three piece set and John Deere 2700 mulch-ripper next month.

Speaking of new tractors the 2003 Toy Tractor Times Anniversary Tractor will be announced soon. Rick Larsen the founder of The Toy Tractor Times and I have been looking at different models all spring and hope that you like our choice. More information and an order form will follow in a future issue this summer. This years model will be the 17th consecutive 1/16 anniversary tractor from the Toy Tractor Times since we marked our 3rd anniversary in 1986. This August marks the 20th Anniversary of The Toy Tractor Times Magazine. Hopefully there will be more news latter this summer regarding a 1/64 20th anniversary model.

This month The Toy Tractor Times takes a look at several of the haying implements in the farm toy hobby today. Haying is always an exciting time on the farm as the planting rush winds down and the long days of summer approach. Next month our theme will feature a great American summer past time: "The County Fair".

I would like to congratulate Doug Harke the long time Toy Tractor Times "Variations" column writer on his election to the National Toy Tractor Hall of Fame. It was Doug’s Geneseo, NY show 18 years ago that first introduced me to the collecting side of toy tractors and to The Toy Tractor Times Magazine

Until the next "Times"
