Slik's Minneapolis Moline 445

by Lynn Rottinghaus

The Minneapolis Moline 445 was made from 1956-1959. It was rated at 40 hp and came in gasoline, LP, diesel, and tractor gas. Toy tractors of this tractor were made by Slik in the 50’s in 1/24 scale. To the best of my knowledge, there were 2 basic body castings of this tractor. Each having different variations made of it......wide front or narrow front, different colored wheels, different decals, different paint schemes, etc.

The first casting version has headlights built into the grill. By far the most available version of this tractor uses this casting. It has a brown engine and belly with yellow centered wheels and a wide front end.  The second version of this casting has a little different paint scheme, fenders, a narrow front and red centered tires.

The second casting version has headlights cast on the side of the tractor. The tractors made from this casting are a little more difficult to find. The one pictured  features a narrow front with red centered wheels and is painted a dark yellow or almost a brown. Notice the different decals on this version.

This last photo will give you an idea of the size of these toys next to a Case Agri-King.
