1/64 Farm Machinery of the World toys

The tractors packaged on the farm machinery of the world card have always been among the most sought after by 1/64 collectors.  Theses packages were made in the late 1970’s and you will find 7 different tractor models produced for them.   There was never an implement or combine produced in this style package.  In this article we will look at all the models and the different variations of tractors that were packaged on this card.

Of the 7 different models produced you will find an early and later version of each one.  The early versions had spun on front rims while the later version had push on front rims.  The early version is harder to find and a bit more valuable.

The Models

Allis Chalmers 7045

The tractor shown above, from Dan Adamson's collection, is one of the hardest to find and among the most valuable 1/64 tractor models.  It is the early version with the spun on front rims and a white border around the decal.  The white border is what makes the toy so Rare!

This picture shows the early version of the 7045 with the spun on front rims.

Here is a unique variation of the early 7045 that has an upside down decal.  Notice the spun on front rim in this picture.

The next picture shows 2 different versions of the later model 7045.  The one on the left has gray writing on the package where it says Allis Chalmers and the one on the right has white writing.  They both have the push on front rims.

The final variation of the 7045 is a very hard one to find. It is packaged upside down on the card.

International Harvester 1086

The 1086 model did not have a lot of variations.  There was an early version with the spun on front rims as well as the variations shown in the picture above.  Just like the 7045 the one on the left has grey lettering that says International Harvester and the one on the right is white in color.

 Case Agri King

The above picture shows 2 of the earliest versions of the Agri King.  The one on the right came with a I beam decal which has the edges extended like the letter I instead of just a square decal.  These are the hardest to find variations of the Agri King The on on the right has the more common square decal but still has the spun on front rims.  The picture below shows the difference in the decals.

This picture shows another variation of the early model that is packaged upside down on the card

The last picture of the Agri King shows the later model with push on front rims.  You will find this variation on cards with white or gray writing as well.

Ford 9700

The Ford 9700’s have 2 major variations.  The early ones have a power take of shield on the back and the later ones do not.  Ertl removed this from the casting because you could not hook certain implements up to it.   The very first 9700 models also had a domed rear rim(Shown in picture above).   The dome rim has a dome shaped center and does not have the three slots like the common Ertl tires of the time.  This variation is also one of the hardest 1/64 toys to find.

These pictures show the 2 more common models of the 9700.  The one on the right has a PTO shaft and the one on the left does not.

Massey Ferguson 2800 & 2775

The Ertl company produced two different models from the Massey Ferguson casting.  The first one was the 2800 which is shown above.  You will find it with the hard to find domed rear rim as well as the common rear rim.  All of the 2800’s had spun on front rims.  It is hard to find either of the 2800 models but one with dome rims will sell for about twice as much.

The 2775 is a much more common model.  Just like the 2800 the first ones came with dome rims as shown in the picture above.  The dome rimed models also had spun on rims.  The next picture shows the last version of the 2775 with push on rims.  The tractor on the right has grey writing on the card while the one on the left has white writing.

The last picture shows a mistake version that never had a decal put on it.

(

John Deere 4430

The John Deere 4430 did not have a lot of different variations.  The first ones came with the spun on front rims and the later ones had the push on rims.  The above picture shows the early versions with the two different colors of writing on the cards.  The next photo shows the later version.  This one you will also find with two different colors of writing on the card.

The final pictures show a very unusual card.  It was produced for a distributor in Canada and has French writing on it.  Notice that it has the same graphics as all the other cards but does not say  Farm Machinery of the World.   I have been told that there were 7045, 1086, 2775, 9700 and Case Agri King models produced on this style card as well but this is the only one I have found.

That wraps up the variations of tractors on the Farm Machinery of the World card.  I hope that you found this article help full in completing your collection of older 1/64 tractors.  If you have any questions or comments you can contact me at daltonsfarmtoys@iowatelecom.net
