Toy Times Comments

Merry Christmas to you and your family.  Thank you for your support and interest in The Toy Tractor Times this past year.  It has been a great honor to take the reins of the magazine in its 20th year and bring the publication to you on the world wide web.  I want to thank our knowledgeable authors for their interest and articles.  I have really enjoyed the informative articles that have come in every month with out fail.   Many thanks to you the reader for joining TTT and your involvement in our great hobby.

Our December issue highlights some of our authors favorite toys of 2003.   Dan Adamson gives a run down of his favorite 1/64 models.  Jim Simpson talks about two great models from Scale Models.   TTT also looks at historical toys in this issue.  Doug Harke looks back at the IH 1586 variations.  Jason Dalton gives us the run down on Farm Machinery Cards of the world. Gordy Schultz looks at the past twenty years of John Deere cotton pickers.  Dave Tallon gives custom tips on making a 1/64 John Deere 6030.  Have you heard Ertl will offer a 1/16 version next year? They are :)

2003 was a great year for farm toys. Detail is improving on all three scales.  2004 will be a big year for the 1/32 scale.  Ertl has all sorts of surprises in store for us.  A few have already been announced with a 1/32 John Deere 4020 and a Frontier Grain Cart.  I am excited to see the new 1/16 John Deere 12/24 1790 corn planter from Ertl and the Steiger 2200 from Scale Models on the way for 2004.  1/64 should have a big year in 04 with the John Deere air drill on the way, an 8020 4wd, Case STX 500 4wd and a few more surprises.

Next month TTT will feature winter chores on the farm. If you would like to join the TTT author list or share an article please contact  Michael Henry at michaelghenry@yahoo.com.

Until the next "Times"
