Kinze 1050 Carts
We saw quite few improvements in 1/64 in 2003. A new level of detail was introduced on Ertl, Spec-Cast and Die-Cast Promotions toys. We saw some really nice tractors with the Big Bud 16V-47 4wd and the John Deere 7920 collectors model and the shelf 7920. The CaseIH AFX 8010 combine topped last years New Holland CR970 with even more detail. The really improvements in 1/64 came in the implement offerings this year. Over the years most 1/64 implements have has a very basic toy look. In 2003 we saw the detail brought to tractors and combines come to the implement line for collectors. The CNH planters and rippers have taken top honors among collectors, John Deere's new planter and ripper were also a hit.

Off all the implements that came out this year, one stood out among the tough competition. The new Kinze1050 carts are like no other implement offered before. These are close to Precision for the 1/64 scale. Kinze is probably the best known brand of grain cart. For a number of years now a Kinze 840 cart first offered by Scale Models has been available. At first this cart was available on the same tire used by Scale Models on their 4wds and latter a large dual tires and tracks were also available. The 840 really filled the large frame cart gap for collectors looking to keep up with 1/64 12 row combines.

The new 1050 has the detail to match the new 1/64 combines like the New Holland CR970 and CaseIH AFX 8010. Spec-Cast is the manufacturer of the new cart and has all the detail a collector could want. The first item that jumps out at you is the replica metal grating placed on the floor of the cart. The unloading auger has flighting cast into both ends. The hitch has a jack stand. Sll of the rivets and authentic brand and warning decals are shown on the model. This toy will look good on any shelf or display.

The Kinze 1050 is built for today’s high yielding crops and the large combines that harvest them. The cart design, structural integrity, flotation and grain handling performance is superior to any other cart in the field today. On average, unloading speed of the 1,050 bushel cart is 2.1 minutes. The giant 20 inch unloading auger pours out over 500 bushels per minute. The toy models are available with dual row crop axles, giant soft-floatation tires or soft-tracks, just like the real carts.

Many collectors will want to use these carts on displays. Their impressive detail is a great match for the new CNH combines. What kinds of tractors are best to use with the 1050? Any of the current large hp 2wds or 4wds will fit the cart well. A local farm here in KY pulls their 1050 carts with John Deere 9220 4wds and an 8120. For these pictures I chose a Steiger STX 375 and a John Deere 8300.
