What is in this Issue?

Toy Times Comments

August 15, 1983 marked the first publication of The Toy Tractor Times.   The Toy Tractor Times has been linking the chain of farm toy collectors for 20 years with the release of this issue.  We are proud to announce that the 20th Anniversary Toy Tractor Times Tractor will be a 1/16 Ertl replica of the 1973 Allis-Chalmers 7030.   As you will read in the August issue the AC 7030 will be the first in a series of 1970's anniversary tractors from the Toy Tractor Times.

Rick and Linda Larsen the founders of TTT share their memories of founding the magazine and publishing it for the past 19 years in this issue.  It has been a real honor for me to take over as the publisher in the 20th year.  I picked up my first copy of The Toy Tractor Times in December 1988 at Doug Harke's Western New York Toy Show.  The Toy Tractor Times and Doug's annual toy show are the key reasons my interest in the farm toy hobby grew.

Beyond the 20th Anniversary we will look at 101 years of International Harvester.  The IH brand was the #1 brand in the United States for many years, selling over Five Million Farmall tractors.  TTT salutes the red power brand with history, display and custom articles this month.

I hope that you enjoy the August issue.  Our goal is to bring you interesting articles and topics.  I would encourage any one interested in submitting articles or ideas.  It is your participation in the hobby that keeps us going.  If you would like to join the TTT author list or share an article please contact  Michael Henry at michaelghenry@yahoo.com.

Until the next "Times"
