The year 2008 marks the 25th Anniversary of The Toy Tractor Times and the start of our next series of 1/16 anniversary tractors. Legends of the 20th Century is a new annual offering of historic tractors that impacted farming through innovation, popularity or rareness from the first tractor in 1903 to the last all new tractor of the century in 1998.
Toy Tractor Times first Legends tractor is the diesel row crop Oliver 66. While other manufacturers were experimenting with LP tractors in the early 1950's, Oliver was developing strong and thrifty diesel engines for its entire line of tractors. The 2 plow Oliver 66 was amoung the first small size tractors in North America to offer diesel power.
The new 2008 Toy Tractor Times 1/16 Oliver 66 is paired with a legendary tillage implement. One of the most popular and enduring tillage tools is the spring tooth harrow and this great implement has never been offered as a 1/16 model until now. The Oliver 3000 series 9ft spring tooth harrow has been paired with all new 4 cylinder diesel Oliver 66 to celebrate 25 years of Toy Tractor Times.
