Fall Farm Show Edition
September is an exciting month in the farm equipment industry as new tractor and combines are introduced at fall farm shows.  The September 2006 Toy Tractor Times features the new machines from AGCO, CaseIH, New Holland and John Deere.  New equipment means new toys.  The biggest news from the 2006 show circuit is AGCO's new Class VIII combines.  These new 350 bu. combines offer a 425 hp engine and an industry leading 4.5 bushel per second unloading rate.  Scale Models has produced 1/24 toy models of the big new combines.  The September Toy Tractor Times has several features on the new AGCO combines.  Toy Tractor Times TV has a 360 degree tour of the big combines and footage from the field of the Gleaner and Massey Ferguson shelling corn.  We also have an interview with Joe Ertl the owner of Scale Models on the new 1/24 combines.

John Schomburg takes us out to the 2006 Farm Progress Show in Amana, Iowa this month with video and pictures from the field demonstrations.  The Toy Tractor Times has a new video in the webstore showing all the corn harvesting and tillage action from the show.  This new DVD is your chance to see and hear all the new 2007 combines and tractors in action.  You can order this DVD and other Toy Tractor Times DVD's at http://www.toytractortimes.com/shop

The September issue also has several articles on new toys.  Under the Scope gives you a tour of the new Universal Hobbies 1/16 Scale Massey Ferguson 35X.   Rick Hartwell has a new column called Modeling with 1/32 where we preview a new Claas Xerion.  The CaseIH Key Precision line is growing and Toy Tractor Times has pictures of the new Precision IH 1468.  With Fall Farm Shows there are new toys and Collect at All looks at the 2006 John Deere models.  We also look at the AGCO Farm Progress toys.  AGCO also has several new 1/64 toys out from Ertl we will review in Keeping Current  with 1/64.

Doug Harke has a new two part series on “SCALES”.   The articles by Doug will help define the range of farm toys in different sizes that are available to collect.

Down on the Model Farm this month starts a new series on building a 1/64 display.  One of the most popular topics on Toy Talk is how do I build a display?  The September Toy Tractor Times will give you a shopping list of building supplies and the October issue will show you through video how to build a display from start to finish with all the details you might want.

We hope that you will enjoy the Fall Farm Show edition.  Next month we will look at the fall harvest from corn to cotton.

Until Next Times....................
