The 2008 National Farm Toy Show in Dyersville, Iowa was another exciting "Big Show". The Toy Farmer does an excellent job in hosting the premier farm toy show each year. There is so much to see and do it is hard to see the entire show in just three days.

Toy Tractor Times TV has many of the interesting events of the 2008 National on video for you to watch in this issue. If you have never been to the show or attend every year you will enjoy the video tour of the shows main attractions. TTT has 10 video spots for your viewing pleasure. Reserve sometime over the holidays to watch each episode from the National Toy Show.

This month’s videos take you on a tour of the National Farm Toy Show and bring you the 1/64, 1/16 and Youth display contest winners. We also have footage from the 8th annual Toy Tractor Times Toy Talk dinner, where Bill Walters from Ertl Farm Toys was our guest speaker. Look for several more videos of other National Farm Toy Show displays in the December and January issues of the Toy Tractor Times.

In addition to all of the videos we have several articles on new farm toys introduced at the National. The Ertl Show Room had all sorts of new farm toys on display including the new 1/64 Authentic 7088 Axial-Flow combine from CaseIH. The 2009 John Deere Catalog from Ertl was also introduced this month with all sorts of surprises including a 1/16 Precision 7020 4wd, 1/64 4960, 4955, 4850 set and an all new collection of 1/64 tractors celebrating the 50 states. Spec-Cast also had several exciting new vintage items on hand including a Minneapolis-Moline corn sheller, IH Farmall Cub, and Case grain drill. During the show the Scale Models factory was rolling the Toy Tractor Times 25th Anniversary AGCOSTAR 8360 down the production line.

Stef and I hope you enjoy our coverage of the "Big Show" in Dyersville. Thank you to Dusty Kirschman who filmed and photographed the National Farm Toy Show for Toy Tractor Times. We hope to see you at the 2009 National which will be held the first weekend of November.

Featured Farm Toy of the Month
The Ertl Allis-Chalmers 7580 was the official tractor of the 2008 National Farm Toy Show hosted by Toy Farmer. For just over 30 years the National Farm Toy Show has severed as the farm toy event of the year. Going back to 1979 Toy Farmer's first Allis-Chalmers National Show tractor was the 180 hp 7080 tractor. This special edition tractor was the second National Show tractor and is packed in a Toy Farmer box and sealed in an Allis-Chalmers box. A gold decal on the hood marks the 7080 as the 1979 National Farm Toy Show tractor. Production of the NFTS 7080 was limited to 1,000 units and a new in the box model will bring $500 today.

Hello! My name is Dwayne, and I have been collecting and building farm toys in 1/64th scale for 20 years. I grew up in central Minnesota on a hog farm. After a tour in the USAF during Desert Storm, I returned to my home state, and now work as an engineering technician for a computer component manufacturer. I still love making toys when I get the time, and will post new creations as I get them done. I also have a collection of close to 1500 1/64th scale replicas. So I hope to add some pics of my collection as time permits.
