Case 1570 Final Product Pictures
by Stefanie Hasert
We would like to thank all of our readers who purchased The Spirit of '76 Case 1570. The Toy Tractor Times is pleased to picture the final production model of the Spirit of '76 Case 1570. Ertl has done a wonderful job in detailing the real tractor. It will be shipping to those who ordered the tractor in April 2006.
You can see in these pictures all the detail that has gone into replicating the Spirit of '76. The frame, the engine, the cab and the hitch are all realistic representations of the 1570. Collectors will notice the draw bar has a Case hitch rather than a generic hitch. Notice the pto shaft and shielding just above the draw bar. The die-cast 3pt hitch raises and lowers. The tractor has new tires front and back. The front tires are 18.4 x 16.1 diamond tread tires and the rear duals are 20.8 x 38 tires. The cab has been detailed inside complete with shifting levers and a dash board. The tractor has hand grabs on the cab and flood lights. The stars and stripes graphics are painted on just like the real thing. No one has to worry about pealing decals. The Toy Tractor Times 2005 Collectors Imprint has been placed underneath the tractor. Many collectors have felt the collectors edition stamps take away from the tractor so Ertl has started placing the stamps out of sight.
The Toy Tractor Times box is as colorful as the toy tractor. The front of the box features the 1/16 1570 set among Spirit of '76 memorabilia put out by Case in 1976. The top of the box feature a Spirit of '76 poster hung at many Case dealers during the Bicentennial. The back of the box features a reproduction of the Case Spirit of '76 sales literature. The side of the box lists the collectors edition features of the toy and pictures Jay Gyger's Spirit of '76 used to model the toy.
One last detail added to the tractor thank Jay Gyger for sharing his Spirit of '76 Case 1570 with the Toy Tractor Times is a decal on the hood by the cab. In 1976, Jay Gyger worked at Case Power & Equipment the Case dealership in Lebanon, IN. It was Case Power & Equipment that sold Jay's dad J.R. Gyger the Spirit of '76 on July 8, 1976. The Toy Tractor Times had the Case Power & Equipment Sales and Service decal added to the model tractor to pay tribute to the Gygers long time connection to case as farmers and Case historians.
We hope that you like the Spirit of '76 Case and all the extras Ertl added to this new toy tractor. The 2006 Toy Tractor Times tractor is already in the works and we hope to have news for you on that model at the St. Louis Farm Toy Show in February.
