Haying on Gabe Moudy's Model Farm

As I was sorting through some old parts one day, I came up with the idea for making this 2840. Not really one of JD's more popular models, but it (along with the 4030) was billed as a replacement for the 3020. The front half of the tractor is an old 4430 engine casting put together with the rear end from a 2510 - both of which happened to be taking up room in the parts bin. Custom parts include:
ROPS with orange flashers
scratch built 3 pt hitch
shift levers - gear, throttle and 3pt lift
clutch and brake pedals
operator's platform
custom seat with SMV sign

The 347 is an attempt to detail the standard Ertl baler while making it look like the older models that went with tractor's from the 70's. I made a swivel hitch with PTO shaft, modified the pickup header with paint and a more accurate representation of the real thing, gauge wheel, jack, reworked the back with drive shaft and removed the wire housing, hollowed out the bale chute, added the wheel which pulls bales through and the tailgate which opens and closes for dropping bales on the ground. The plunger on top was opened and detailed, and the correct decals were added, including safety decals on the front.

1/16 Scale John Deere 6910

Tom Neira  has sent in pictures of a John Deere 6910 forage harvester he purchased  at Nationals. He wanted to share this piece with the Toy Tractor Times.  It is a great look model.
