Spring Collecting
This div will be replaced
It is time to open up the shed and roll into spring. This month the Toy Tractor Times looks at the equipment used in early spring around the farm. We have articles on everything from 4wd tractors to sprayers and lawn mowers.

The March 2009 issue of the Toy Tractor Times marks the start of our 6th year as on-line magazine. We appreciate all of the interest farm toy collectors have had in the website. Over 27,000 people visited the Toy Tractor Times in the past month to learn about farm toy collecting.

This issue has additional videos from the 2009 St. Louis Toy Show. Just in time for Spring we have a video and story on Dave Tallon's most recent build. Dave has an amazing custom built Ag-Chem 1803 fertilizer spreader. The bar is raised again with Dave’s attention to detail on the 1803 that won a trophy at the 2009 St. Louis Custom Contest.

Youth are the future of our hobby and they continue to build impressive display farms that impress the crowds at big shows like St. Louis. This month’s edition goes down on the model farm with two leading young builders Eric Rinkel and Josh Kindred. Look for more St. Louis display videos and stories in the April issue.

Stefanie and I appreciate the enthusiasm and talents that collectors share on Toy Tractor Times. We look forward to advancing farm toy news and networking on the internet for many more years to come.

Until Next Times....

Jason and Stefanie Hasert

Featured Farm Toy of the Month
Spra-Coupe is one of the classic names in application equipment. Scale Models produced a 1/16 Spra-Coupe Melroe 220 Spray truck for the 25th Anniversary of the brand. Learn more about Spra-Coupe toys and other AGCO brand collectible sprayers in this issue of the Tot Tractor Times.

About the Cover
The March 2009 cover features a custom built 1/64 Steiger Panther IV built by John Schomburg. The first cover of the on-line Toy Tractor Times six years ago featured Steigers. John built this Panther IV when the Toy Tractor Times on-line started and was an early member of the website. See more pictures of this great looking Panther IV Steiger working on the Roven Farms display in this issue.

News
Mark your calendar for March 12, 13 and 14 2010. The Toy Tractor Times is excited to announce that we will be hosting a display and custom contest at the 33rd annual Lafayette farm toy show.

Allen Chesnut is the new owner and host of the well known show that is counted as the second oldest farm toy show in the country. The show will now be held in Indianapolis, IN but will still be known as the Lafayette Farm Toy Show and continue to offer its annual IH tractor series.

Watch for more details on the show and Toy Tractor Times displsy contest. Start working on your projects as we look forward to showing of your work in March 2010.

Scott Galliart has always had a fascination with things that had wheels. And tractors were always a big part of that. Scott thinks it's because of the BIG back tires and little front tires, it just says HOT ROD to him. He grew up drawing cars and tractors and somehow he became a IH fan. In 2006 he went to the Newton farm toy show searching for Hot Wheels, He bought a few and I found a bunch of old Redlines. The guy said Scott had to buy
the whole box of junk for $5. Well there were about a dozen played with Redlines and a couple dozen Big Red tractors,
so he bought the box and looked threw it. Scott was hooked. He went and back bought all the IH tractors he could find in everyones "CHEAP" boxes. He came home with 31 tractors. That is howScott and his son Eddie started collecting 1/64 scale tractors. Their website shows a wide collection of all things 1/64 for CaseIH, International, J.I. Case and Steiger.
