Merry Christmas to all of our Toy Tractor Times members. Stefanie and I hope that Santa was good to you this year. Mr. Claus brought Stefanie a pink 1/64 John Deere 9996 cotton picker for her growing collection of pink farm toys. There were allot of exciting new farm toys released in 2008. Our annual "Best of" issue looks at your favorite new 1/16, 1/32 and 1/64 farm toys of the year. The year 2008 will be most remembered in farm toys for the new level of detail that was added in all scales and as a big year for 1/64 farm toys. The Chrome plated 1/64 Authentics No. 1 CaseIH 7088 Axial-Flow Combine by Ertl is a very hot collectors item this December. A total of 100 chrome 7088 Axial-Flow Combines were produced by Ertl and randomly inserted with the regular red 7088 combines. Each model is numbered 1 - 100 and are bring $200 or more on e-bay.

Each December the Toy Tractor Times selects a collector who has impacted the farm toy hobby in a positive way. Erik is a unique collector in Europe because he primarily collects 1/16 North American tractor models in a region that favors 1/32 farm toys.

Its time again for the annual Toy Tractor Times plowing contest. The Toy Talk New Years plowing shoot out is a fun way for farm toy collectors of all scales to enjoy their farm toys. The model plowing contest is a spirited competition where fellow collectors can show off custom and stock tractors and tillage items.
The plowing contest will take place on Toy Talk over the Christmas and New Year holidays. Everyone is welcome to take part and show off their talents and farm toys. Look for a full review of all the fun and toys in the January 2009 issue of the Toy Tractor Times.
