Featured Farm Toy of the Month
In 1998 Toy Tractor Times celebrated its 15th Anniversary with John Deere. Stephan produced 250 detailed John Deere 1010 tractors with a narrow front and 3-point hitch. Each model was packed in a specail 15th Anniversary of the Toy Tractor Times Magazine box. Today this commerative John Deere sells for around $400 on the collectors market.

About the Cover
The 360 horse power AGCOSTAR® 8360 was produced from 1995 to 2001 at the AGCO® factory of Coldwater, OH. When the AGCOSTAR® debuted the tractor highlighted the three AGCO® with White™ silver, Allis-Chalmers™ orange and Massey Ferguson® red. Massey Ferguson® customers had the option of ordering AGCOSTAR® 4WD in Red M1041 color. Today there are a few red AGCOSTAR® working on farms across the United States and Canada.

The Toy Tractor Times has selected the red AGCOSTAR® as its official 25th Anniversary tractor to highlight our long time tractor series that began with AGCO® Heritage® tractors including the Massey-Harris™ Pony, Allis-Chalmers™ B, Minneapolis-Moline® V and the Oliver® Super 44.

News
Well known farm toy collector and National Farm Toy Hall of Fame inductee Doug Harke has been writing for The Toy Tractor Times Magazine since its founding in 1983. Doug Harke has been awarded a gold Toy Tractor Times Oliver 66 for his 25 years of service to farm toys.

Doug began collecting farm toys with his sons in the early 1970's. To keep peace among the boys each son was given their own brand to collect with focus on International Harvester, John Deere, Allis-Chalmers and Massey Ferguson. Doug continues to maintain these collections and shares his vast knowledge of 1/16 farm toy variations with Toy Tractor Times and Toy Farmer readers.

Doug also founded one of the best known regional shows in the U.S. In 1986 Doug Harke started the Western New York Farm Toy Show in Geneseo, NY to support Boy Scout troop 70. A 10 year old collector named Jason Hasert attended this first show in 1986 where he met Doug Harke and the founder of the Toy Tractor Times Rick Larsen.

Twenty plus years later Jason Hasert the current owner of the Toy Tractor Times was proud to present his friend and farm toy mentor with a gold 25th Anniversary Toy Tractor Times Oliver 66.

The September Toy Tractor Times turns its attention to the 2008 Fall Farm Shows. Ertl and Scale models are producing a range of AGCO, CaseIH and John Deere Fall Farm Show editions for the 2008 farm events. A new twist on collectors models for the 2008 shows is "dusty" farm toys from Ertl. The new 2009 CaseIH 8120 Axial-Flow combines is one of the new dusty farm toys that will be part of the 2008 Fall Farm Show collectors series. Watch for news on the 8120 and many other new toys and machines in the next issue of the Toy Tractor Times.
